The story of Getaway

It usually starts with a message: “We should go somewhere.” Everyone’s excited. A few places get suggested, someone shares a link, and then the conversation moves on. A week later, there’s still no date and no plan.

That gap between wanting to spend time together and actually making it happen is why we started Getaway. Planning a weekend with friends shouldn’t need the same coordination as a work project. And it shouldn’t always fall on the one person willing to chase everyone.

We’re building a shared home for those plans. Somewhere to pick a date, bring friends in, work out the details, and know what’s happening. Whether it’s a trip away or dinner around the corner, the idea is the same: make it easier to say “I’m in” and mean it.

We want Getaway to feel like part of the fun. Clear when you need an answer, useful when there’s something to organize, and easy to put away when everyone arrives. The planning should leave you looking forward to the day.

We care about the little things that help a group follow through: a detail everyone can find, a decision that’s finally settled, one less message asking what time to meet. Those small moments add up to more time spent together.
